2. Applied Solution: Spatial Heatmap Analysis

 

3. Background: Need for traffic dispersion and reduced perceived waiting times: As wait times for breakfast and the swimming pool increased, measures were required to disperse guest visits and improve the waiting experience. 

  • Peak-time Congestion: Excessive crowding during specific hours led to long queues, and a solution was needed to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Preserving Brand Value: Action was necessary to ensure the hotel's core value of 'relaxing leisure' was not compromised, especially in the pool area.
  • Limitations of Manual Monitoring: Relying on staff’s visual checks made real-time response difficult and limited the ability to provide accurate wait-time information to guests.

 


4. Deliverables: Reduced perceived wait times and dispersed traffic by providing breakfast waiting info and pool congestion updates. 

  • Breakfast Restaurant: Analyzed waiting guests at the entrance --> Provided real-time occupancy and the number of waiting guests.
  • Swimming Pool: Conducted congestion analysis by lane and zone $\rightarrow$ Provided real-time visitor counts.

  • Maximized operational efficiency and enhanced customer satisfaction through real-time spatial analysis.
  • Traffic Dispersion and Wait Time Reduction: By providing real-time congestion data, guests were encouraged to adjust their own visit times, effectively alleviating peak-time crowding.
  • Optimized Resource Allocation: By analyzing Spatial Heatmap data by day and hour, the hotel identified peak demand periods in advance to improve operational efficiency.
