While traditional media channels such as television, print, and radio continue to experience stagnation and negative growth, the OOH market has defied the trend, consistently posting robust double-digit annual growth driven by digital transformation. Despite this rapid expansion, the industry has historically lacked standard, objective performance metrics—a critical bottleneck that has hindered data-driven scalability and budget optimization.

In response, a coalition of approximately thirty prominent enterprises and public institutions recently launched the ‘OOH Advertising Effectiveness Index Standardization Alliance.’ As a key provider of primary metric data, P2ACH AI is spearheading this standardized data framework in close collaboration with the Korea Out-of-Home Advertising Center.

The technology showcased by P2ACH AI at the conference overcomes traditional measurement limitations by maximizing the synergy between Vision AI and proprietary WiFi sensor arrays. Optical cameras integrated into digital displays leverage deep learning algorithms to detect human head angles, determining whether a pedestrian’s gaze is directed toward the screen. Simultaneously, specialized WiFi sensors capture signals in peripheral blind spots and spacious plazas that cameras cannot cover, tracking the total volume and dwell time of the nearby crowd.

By dynamically fusing these two data streams, P2ACH AI maps out the pedestrian funnel with unprecedented precision: identifying how many individuals entered the display’s vicinity (Visible Audience), how many walked towards the display (Exposed Audience), and ultimately, how many actively focused on the creative asset and for how long (Viewing Audience & Attention Span). This approach eliminates the historical guesswork and delivers authentic, audit-ready advertising metrics.
